New features/enhancements

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

  • Disable Station assignments in Duty Roster: For services using both Fire Reports and ZOLL emsCharts, a new configuration option has been added that allows administrators to disable assigning stations in the Duty Roster. Setting the 'Disable Station Assignment in Duty Roster' option to 'Yes' in Service Configuration > Chart > Crew/Duty Roster, will limit Duty Roster assignments to units only and prevent users from assigning stations.

Note: If a crew member is part of a station assignment in the Duty Roster when this configuration option is set, that user will be removed from the station assignment and can be assigned to a unit.

  • Referring and receiving locations: The headers identifying the referring and receiving locations on Page 1 of charts and on printed versions of charts have been changed to include more common terminology for all users, including those less familiar with transport medicine terms. The referring location header is now "Referring / Scene" and the receiving location header is now "Receiving / Destination".

  • Default units of measurement: We have added the ability for services to configure a default unit of measurement for weight, height/length, and temperature, that will be used when documenting a chart. The new configuration options are available in Service Configuration > Chart > Defaults:

    • Default Weight Measurement

    • Default Length Measurement

    • Default Temperature Measurement

Note: The default values for these fields will be the current default measurement values users are presented in their charts. Users can still change the measurement value used on a chart just as they could before these new options.

[ ZOLL UI ]

  • One-click set procedure complications to 'None': We have added a new button labeled 'SET TO NONE' for both procedure complications and airway complications when adding procedures to a chart. Clicking the button will set the complications to 'None'.

  • Button color indicates data present: There are various buttons within a chart that, when clicked, open a form that allows you to document specific information. For example, the following buttons exist (depending on the call type) on Page 2 of a chart:

    • Exposure

    • Add'l Injury Details

    • Cardiac Arrest

    • Motor Vehicle Incident

There was no visual indication after saving information in these forms and the only way to verify that information was entered was to view the Entire Chart, or click the button again to open the form. This has been addressed, and now if you click on a button and save information in the form by clicking SAVE, the button color changes to green to show data has been entered.

  • Hospital list on Page 1 of chart: After creating a new chart from a CAD import or performing a CAD import from Page 1 of a chart, certain actions could cause the drop-down list of default receiving hospitals to no longer be available, and users were forced to use the hospital search function instead of selecting a facility from the list. We have improved the behavior of the hospital lookup list on Page 1 so as long as the receiving hospital is listed in the service's Default Receiving Hospitals code table, the list of hospitals remains available to users. If the receiving hospital is not in the service's Default Receiving Hospitals code table, the data will be imported and saved, but users will be required to use the hospital lookup function to select a different hospital.

  • 'Select Me' option in User Lookup forms: We have added a new button to User Lookup forms labeled 'SELECT ME' that will assign the current user when clicked. This option will be available for all User Lookup forms throughout the application.

Fixed issues

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

  • 'Other' crew member performing procedure: When adding a procedure to a chart and selecting the crew member performing the procedure, the 'Other' option was available during the initial entry, but if the procedure was edited at a later time, 'Other' was no longer available to select for the crew member performing a procedure. This has been fixed and the 'Other' option is available upon initial entry and later editing for crew member performing procedure.

  • Unit crew on homepage: We fixed an issue that was causing both previous and current crew members on a unit to display on the homepage when a service was configured with the 'Track Next-Crew' option set to 'No' in the Units code table. Now only the current crew roster for that unit displays on the homepage and crew change form.

  • Searching for chart by crew member: We fixed an issue that was preventing charts from displaying in search results if the charts did not have a valid ZOLL emsCharts user listed as a crew member, such as charts imported from a different ePCR software. We also fixed an issue that prevented charts from displaying in search results if the search was performed for a specific crew member who was listed in position five or higher on the chart.

  • Custom response and transport modes: We fixed an issue that was preventing custom response and transport modes configured in the 'Dispatch Modes (Ref/Rec Mode)' code table from being selectable as search criteria from the Patient Records page and custom reports, and also prevented services from creating data validations using those custom values. Values configured in the 'Dispatch Modes (Ref/Rec Mode)' code table can now be selected when creating data validations, custom reports, and when searching for charts from the Patient Records page.

  • Response Times report: We have updated the list of response modes available to select from in the Response Times report to include all active custom modes configured in the 'Dispatch Modes (Ref/Rec Mode)' code table, as well as all historical NEMSIS v2 and NEMSIS v3 options, to ensure that the Response Times report can be used to report on charts that were documented using both standard and custom response and transport modes.

[ ZOLL UI ]

  • Error editing a medication: We fixed an issue that could cause an error when users tried to edit a medication that had previously been saved in the activity log. The error would only sometimes occur if there were multiple medications added to the chart at one time through the activity log and then a user tried to edit the second, third, fourth, or fifth medication at a later time.

  • Referring and receiving address information not fully displayed: We fixed an issue that caused only partial referring and receiving address information to display on Page 1 of a chart after CAD import. The full information only displayed after navigating to another page in the chart and then back to Page 1. Now, the entire address is displayed on Page 1 as soon as the chart is created from a CAD import, or when a CAD import is performed from Page 1 of an existing chart.

  • Special report required by data validation: We fixed an issue with the way that the 'File / Use Special Report' link was displayed when a triggered data validation required a Special Report be completed.

  • Medical history selections: We found that when a service is configured for a medical history layout of 'ICD/NEMSIS Basic', once a user searches for a history type and makes a selection from the list of options, the selected item is moved to the 'Add' field as expected, but the list displayed the message, "No Record Found" instead of displaying the selected item. This is fixed and now once a selection is made it is moved to the 'Add' field as expected and the list displays the selected item.
